Payment safety

How to pay — and get paid — safely with a Mypayme page.

If you’re paying someone

  • Check the recipient name in your app before you confirm. It should match the account name on the page (some apps mask it, e.g. “JU** DE** C.”).
  • If a QR shows a different name than the page, stop and ask the person directly through a channel you trust.
  • Mypayme only shows payment details. It doesn’t process payments and can’t reverse a transfer — contact your bank or e-wallet if something goes wrong.
  • Pages are created by their owners. Mypayme doesn’t verify identities unless a page clearly says otherwise.
  • See something suspicious? Use Report this page at the bottom of any payment page.

If you’re receiving money

  • Never share your PIN, password or one-time code (OTP). Mypayme will never ask for them, and nobody needs them to send you money.
  • Confirm every payment in your bank or e-wallet app. A screenshot is not proof of payment — it can be edited or reused.
  • Only upload QR codes generated by your own account for receiving money. We show the name stored inside your QR so payers can verify it.
  • Hide or delete any payment method instantly from your dashboard if you no longer want it public.

About QR Ph

QR Ph is the Philippine national QR standard for interoperable payments across participating banks and e-wallets. Whether a payer can scan a particular QR depends on their app and the QR type (for example, person-to-person InstaPay QR vs merchant QR). See the BSP QR Ph P2P FAQs.
